Looked at fossils and archaeological data from artifacts 350,000 years old. Calculated that humans have a 1 in 14,000 chance of going extinct any give year. This is of natural events, but experts say it increases with man-made risks.

According to Extinction Rebellion and their prophets of doom we're finished!

The article puts the data in a completely wrong perspective. A one in 14000 chance over a 200,000 year span should not be compared to the chance that 1 person out of 7 billion might get bit by a shark. Plus, it’s a chance that an event occurs - not that all 7 billion of us die.

Perhaps if the one child per family, no fertility drugs, & abortion becomes legal world wide and everyone becomes vegan we may stand a chance.
