We would like to hear your thoughts on the latest change from the government and what it means for you and your family

Jo Whiley has said she is living a “nightmare” after she was offered the coronavirus vaccine before her sister and is campaigning for Frances to be prioritised for the jab.

About blooming time .

What the fuck?

I trust the doctors to make the right decision based on risk/need. If they recommended this, then let’s do it!

What a strange question? Why would anyone be anything other than happy about this, and if they were, why would you even want their opinion in the first place?

Helen Keller

I think that you had some real bad editors sign-off on this headline. The actual article prompts families who have relatives with learning disabilities to write positive thoughts on this priority for their family members. Instead, this reads like a Fox News headline.

Perfectly okay.

This is an awful question, giving people an excuse to slate ppl with learning disabilities! Many ppl with learning disabilities in care homes died due to Covid-19 so they deserve vaccinations. If people think that these ppl deserve less, then they are advocating eugenics! 🤬🤬🤬

It's great they have finally approved it, should of been one of thw first to get it. But why have they kicked the asthmatics from the group, this should be reviewed also asthmaticsatrisk

Is this Nazi Germany?

Why? Because they shouldn’t get the vaccine? If they have learning disabilities their guardians can decide for them so I don’t know why to start a debate about this! Such a weird question!

I feel that jo whiley matters more than the rest of us. Why does this moronic country value celebrity over anything else?

Hello. Person with ADHD who got offered the jab today. Please do me a favour, delete this Tweet. It is aggressive towards people with learning difficulties. There are replies to this Tweet that are questioning why people with learning difficulties are getting the jab...(1/2)

Was this perchance because a well loved celebrity kicked up a fuss?

Pleased for them and gives some hope that the JCVI might also update their advise for other groups which also have strict and unworkable criteria leaving many at risk due to incomplete records. GP's should be using the flu jab list for Asthma sufferers. asthmaticsatrisk

Well Johnson got one so I guess its ok.

Er, good? Happy? Is wanting people with learning disabilities to not get Covid and fucking die a hot take now?

I’m very happy that they should be vaccinated. Aren’t you?

Right decision has been made and basing it on the Learning Disability register seems to me an appropriate way of reaching this group. The headline is odd though as it makes it seem like it's a negative thing rather than a massive relief for vulnerable people in the LD community

It seems you’re asking for responses from LD people and their families - but your headline reads, unfortunately, as very snarky Change the headline

All human beings will get the vaccine, right? What's the problem again?

It’s amazing for them, but for asthmatics it’s disheartening as those with inhaled steroids have been removed from COVID priority groups. According to NHS we are still clinically vulnerable to both covid and long COVID. Yet not vulnerable enough according to the government.

Why dont you be a bit more honest and just invite asthmatics and folk with learning dis to punch it out for your enjoyment. This would be pretty gross take for The Sun, I have no idea why I bother holding you to a higher standard thse days

About God damned time they were.

Again, I cannot understand the rationale for this question

I'm pleased for them, of course. It is crucial that all asthmatics who are severe enough to get the annual flu jab are put back in group 6 as this group is at high risk of Long Covid asthmaticsatrisk

It's great, but the arguments that got us here have obscured much of why it is necessary

I feel this is a most unfortunate headline. It incites dislike and aggressive behaviour against people with learning disabilities.

It might be a very good idea to at least open the article before making any comment at all, it won’t take you long!

i dunno,

What kind of question is that? Disabled people are at higher risk for a lot of reasons. I love y'all, but do better.

Surely any answer other than ‘really pleased for them’ is ridiculous? People with learning disabilities have suffered very high death rates

Pleased for them, but it's bittersweet when Asthmatics on inhaled steroids have been removed from all COVIDVaccine priority groups. We are still Clinically Vulnerable as per NHS guidance, yet it feels like we're an easy target to make way for others asthmaticsatrisk

if you want me to withdraw my membership keep asking stupid fucking questions like this. This makes my skin crawl. We're glad to see anyone who is vulnerable getting a vaccine, it means they can go out into the world and not be confused or afraid after a year of upheaval.

FrankieKeane3

What kind of question is that? Of all the things to want a poll on, why would you want that? Are you that short of journalistic integrity? We all need to be vaccinated regardless of the difficulties we face and there is plenty going on in the world to concentrate on

It must be a positive initiative. Learning difficulties could easily lead to misunderstanding the steps needed to safely navigate the covid pandemic. Anything that helps vulnerable groups must be encouraged.

What a weird question to ask. This is the Guardian not the Sun

This should never of been an issue. The subject of health inequalities for people with learning and other difficulties, has been going on for over thirty years, since I started out in my career. It’s appalling that this government condoned the DNR approach.

What kind of question is this?

What a really weird question

What a ridiculous question, how could anyone feel anything other than pleased as they are a vulnerable group and should always have been a priority!

Why are you even asking the question . Idiots

Can't be bothered to read the full article. Would seem strange to prioritise learning difficulties over higher risk groups. What's the rationale for vaccinatimg them ahead of say obese people?

Great! Glad it’s happening now

Only people with learning disabilities would be keen to get one in the first place.

Cool, bro. Bring it on.

Good, next!

About time!!

How do I feel about The Guardian asking douchy, mean questions?

Relieved

Good news.

Surely there is only one way to feel? Happy for them and their families.

Delighted.
