With the UK in its third week of government measures to avoid the spread of coronavirus, we would like to hear from those who are celebrating their birthdays under lockdown.
So, my birthday did not have all the trappings that, 'as a good consumer' it usually has. But it still had the love and good wishes of family and friends and was still special and enjoyable. Family = Important, Stuff we are told every day is important BUT IT ISN'T Honestly

I am a very social person. A birthday is celebrated over weeks, not days. This yr. I did vegetable starts + thought about potential food supply shortages. I wasn't down per se, just pensive. Friends had organized a zoombirthday quarantini so the day ended on a nice social note.
My husband arranged a surprise Zoom meeting with 40 people!

With delicious Pakistani food from a local restaurant with wife and son followed by screening of Wise Children from oldvictheatre . Not the trip to NYC we had planned, but a lovely evening nevertheless.

If I'm celebrating my birthday under lockdown, which is towards the very end of the year, the world has collapsed and they'll be no more birthday cakes.
My son’s 12th on 24.3: brkfst in bed with gifts, phone calls with grndprnts locked down in Spain & India, pressies dropped off by mates at SD, cake made by mum and sister, a “like” from David de Gea, then a delivery meal and Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
Ask me on the day, 31st December.

My three boys have all had birthdays over the last two weeks. We saw our families over the fence.

Apparently the electives like prison as that is what their 'lockdown', 'coming together on the table, and 'they're all in it together' slogans are. Rather suggestive to say to people that don't believe that way.
I stopped celebrating my birthday a long time ago... 'Shorter of breath, And one day closer to death...'
