A fat activist who organises events for plus-size people was turned down by a hotel who said they ‘didn’t want to attract’ her kind.
Which is why she was so disappointed when she received an email – seemingly intended for a member of staff at the Marks Tey – saying: ‘Before I spend any time on this, do you agree this isn’t quite the clientele we want to attract.’ The sex-worker turned comedian says one of the wildest things they’ve ever done is stay up till 4am playing board games, so trashing hotel rooms certainly wasn’t on their agena.
‘It’s not about trashing the hotel whatsoever, there was nothing in my email, apart from those two words, which are clearly just a fun intro.’ She added: ‘They made a judgement on us and I think it was definitely because we are plus-sized, and possibly the party animal part but that’s just jumping to conclusions.’
Nothing to do with weight. Hotels don’t want party animals. They have hundreds of guests staying for lots of reasons and most don’t want a party group.
It wasn’t about their weight at all! It’s the “party animals” comment and they know it. Who’d want a massive group of drunk adults trashing the place and fucking it up for other guests?! 🙄
