Harry Enfield uses racial slur while trying to defend blackface in comedy

HARRY Enfield sparked fury today by using a racial slur while defending the use of blackface in comedy.

Enfield added that he has used blackface by darkening his skin to impersonate a person of colour "several times in the past".'NO REGRETS' "Well at the time there was a lot of things in the papers about drugs and stuff, so I made him a drug dealer or a pusher of alcopops to children and things like that, which I thought was so wrong that it was alright and, you know, I wouldn't do it now but I don't regret it," he said."I have played Margaret Thatcher, John Major, Tony Blair, David Cameron - four prime ministers," he said.

The comedian's comments came after TV presenters Ant and Dec apologised on Wednesday for using blackface during a segment on Saturday Night Takeaway.

But he didn’t. He said the name of an old racist programme. Disingenuous reporting. Of all the problems the UK have with racism it isn’t him, stop the distractions!

McCarthyism is the practice of making accusations of subversion or treason without proper regard for evidence. The term refers to U.S. senator Joseph McCarthy (R-Wisconsin) and has its origins in the period in the United States known as the Second Red Scare, just a thought :-)
