US citizen Anne Sacoolas is being sentenced after she pleaded guilty in October to causing Harry Dunn's death by careless driving
It happened on 27 August 2019 when Sacoolas turned out of RAF Croughton and drove on the wrong side of the road for over 20 seconds Sacoolas is "deeply sorry" for the pain caused by her "tragic mistake", in a statement read to the court by her barrister
So basically she has got away with it, the driving ban won't be valid in the states and she gets to carry on with her life with no custodial time and no effective punishment
Causing the death of another human being….leaving the scene of the accident…fleeing abroad to avoid prosecution. 8 months suspended What an absolute judicial joke
Think this would be correct sentence if she actually shown remorse by showing up in the court. As she failed to do so it should be unconditional prison.
Wonder if your average citizen would have received a suspended sentence if they committed the same crime 🤔
