Does PHE use “instruct” or is it a paraphrase? & is it really an order or a request? If it’s a request, I think media should stick with that. We now know that a whole chunk of stuff called “rules” never actually was legally a rule. You should be very clear abt this from now on
Pie in the sky after cumnings has basically put an end to the guidlines and now many are flagrantly flaunting social distancing to go to the beach and open spaces. Give it a couple of weeks and this bollocks will be dropped...then again, probably not.

So did I hear this correctly , you have to self-islolate at home if you are told you have come into contact with someone who has tested positive , but the people you share a house with DON’T also have to self-isolate ?

Volunteered to do this in the late 70’s during an outbreak of a virulent virus in Balham. It was a nightmare as people got either very angry or very tearful when asked not to work for a fortnight but survive on basic sickness benefits! Most refused....
