The education secretary, Gavin Williamson, has told vice-chancellors the government expects a “deal” on academic standards and admissions in return for extending visas for international students.

Had enough of the tories screwing students around!!😡 They’ve already screwed up a-levels And they have screwed up our gcses. Grade 9 is a joke!! 🤦🏼‍♂️ Are we gonna have any of our education left that is gonna about actual education rather than profits and results🙄🤷🏼‍♂️

Government must stop job inflation with useless idiots telling universities what to do.

As much as I dislike the messenger, his message is spot on; Grade inflation has gradually become an epidemic at every level of education since league tables were introduced.

It's the algorithms stupid

We turned Unis into business, not places of learning and critical thinking. The desire to ensure everyone, capable or not, attends one has proved a disaster. If your business show poor results for appallingly inflated fees & huge profits u might be tempted to massage results
