Former Dancing on Ice skater Sean Rice passed away aged 49 on Friday 14 January, just days before the 2022 season of the hit ITV returned to our screens.
Confirming the tragic news of his death, a spokesperson for Dancing On Ice said: "We are all deeply saddened to hear this news. Sean was a wonderful skater and friend to many on the Dancing On Ice team. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time." Sean’s friends and DOI fans have also paid tribute to the late Canadian skater, including Frankie Poultney.
“Sean Rice, 20/07/72 - 14/01/22 gone too soon, but we will Love You For A Thousand Years. All of our thoughts are with Signey and Jodeyne." Another person penned: “I’m simply shocked! Sean was one of the greatest men. They are an inspiration of mine and simply one in a million. From keeping the secret that sweet Signey was in Jodeyne’s belly when we skated together, to having a whale of a time trying out lifts for @ChemmySki routines!”The following year, he teamed up with Chemmy Alcott. The pair were eliminated shortly before the final.
