The incident happened at the Chapel Hideout, a Turkish restaurant on School Lane in Heaton Chapel, last night (Monday, October 9). Staff at the restaurant said a 'man smashed through the glass door' and took cash from the till.
He told the Manchester Evening News that the staff inside were thankfully not hurt. Crime scene investigators were pictured on the scene this morning, with two vans stationed on School Lane.READ MORE: Armed police swoop on car and arrest man for 'rape and possession of a firearm' Photos showed a glass door at the restaurant front left completely smashed with shattered glass on the floor. Chapel Hideout is closed today, though should reopen as normal tomorrow.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said officers were responding to reports of a burglary. No arrests have been made at this stage.Read more of today's top stories here
