Caroline Flack struck her boyfriend while he slept because she suspected he was cheating, an inquest has heard.
A senior officer said a decision to bring an assault charge - after prosecutors initially pursued a caution - was not"motivated" by celebrity.Ms Flack was found dead at her home in Stoke Newington, London in February, while she was facing trial accused of assaulting Mr Burton - a charge she denied. A section from the police incident report was read out in court earlier, in which Ms Flack said:"I did it, I whacked him round the head like that", gesturing a swinging motion with her right hand to police.Based on this evidence the CPS decided to caution Ms Flack for assault, but Scotland Yard urged the CPS to push ahead with a prosecution, the inquest heard.

Doesn't matter who you are if you hit someone it is assault, why some women feel it is acceptable to slap or hit men I have no idea, but it is assault.
Spot on . She’s admitted doing it but said she was trying wake him up by flicking him. Offence not completed , so caution not applicable . So she gets charged . I’d be asking her solicitor what they were playing at .

The best thing to do is leave if you can't deal with something like cheating. Violence was OTT regardless of any so-called fears and cannot be excused. She should have been forced to visit a shrink and not just charged.

Assaulting somebody when they are asleep is a wicked and cowardly crime. If Caroline Flack hit him with her phone drawing blood when he was asleep then the police were correct to prosecute.

First and foremost, let's criticise Ms Flack for having to result to suicide as her last resort which wasn't the ideal approach 2 take in this circumstance. Having said that, I blame the Forces involved in the case for indecisively acting longer than usual, playing with emotions.
Why is this even being published? How is this bringing any closure for her family? For him? Not condoning domestic violence in any way, but surely carolineflack1 suffered enough whilst alive and now this?
Domestic violence is domestic violence male or female... so sad about the outcome but other way around would there really be so much outpouring of support... I think not...

Tragic but at the end of the day if you attack someone with a weapon while they are asleep you deserve to be charged. Can you imaging if it had been the other way round. Far too many men are victims of domestic violence but never report it.
She was, allegedly, very abusive to get partners, and it makes her 'be kind' slogan incredibly hollow. She did not, however, deserve to be so wracked with depression as to commit suicide. It's a shame she could not have received help, support, and forgiveness in time.
A pity the police didn't follow through with Prince Philips dangerous driving charge, which caused more injury than this did. Seems it depends on how far up the food chain you are, to how you get punished!
