Five bizarre transfers involving ex-United players that you might have missed

It goes without saying that a large percentage of players that Manchester United either sign or bring through their academy fail to make the grade at Old Trafford.

With that said, MEN Sport has picked out five former United players who were involved in unexpected transfer deals over the summer. Adnan Januzaj Once considered the next big thing to come off the Carrington production line, Januzaj left United on a permanent basis in 2017, joining Spanish club Real Sociedad. He had five years with the White and Blues, leaving in 2022 to join Sevilla.

Over the years, the Northern Irishman established himself as a Championship promotion-winning specialist, helping Brighton & Hove Albion, Fulham and Sheffield United reach the Premier League. But despite making 27 Premier League appearances for the Blades last season, he left the club following the end of the campaign.
