None of the companies involved in refurbishment of Grenfell Tower accept responsibility for the deadly fire, inquiry hears

Mr Millett said that, with the"sole exception" of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea - which accepted that the refurbishment work should not have been signed off - all organisations had denied responsibility in"carefully crafted statements".

A barrister for building contractor Rydon said safety concerns were raised in internal Arconic emails in 2011 and again in 2016. Families and friends of victims were present in the hearing room in Paddington as inquiry chairman Sir Martin Moore-Bick opened the second phase. The first part of the Grenfell Inquiry had the task of examining the events of just one night. It will look and feel different. A new hearing centre, closer to the community, replaces the previous unpopular conference room in the heart of London's legal district.

Oh my - Surely no-one could think they had anything to do with this tragedy surely!!

The firm that designed the refurbishment are responsible, if the materials or system was changed it would be the responsibility of the firm? company or person that caused the changes and also the original designer if they approved the changes- Simple

So let's get this straight.... cladding on fire. Fire brigade rescue people. Fire brigades fault. In the quiet words of the virgin Mary, 'come again?'....?

Go right back to the beginning. What was the regulations and standards used for tender enquiries. We know why but who decided sprinklers weren't required? We're better cladding systems proposed but rejected because of the cost?

The whole point of fire restrictions and regulations is fires happens and when they do buildings should be safe so people can get out. DUH!

Now what a surprise

Why aren't they fixing it up so that the homeless can live there?

Of course they don’t!!! Inquiries are a waste of even more money and time. The result is everyone to do with it is blameless, always is.

Well there’s a surprise!

In the words of Mandy Rice-Davies 'they would (say that) wouldn't they?'

Accidents are never caused by one thing, it’s a chain of events that lead to it; pretty impossible to blame one company/person

It’s time ltd companies took more responsibility

As I’ve argued elsewhere, the narrative has been established that the Fire service was to blame ( we’ve even bullied the fire chief to retire early). The corporate lawyers will now attempt to throw sand in the eyes of the enquiry. Utterly shameful abdication of responsibilities.

None of them are fully responsible, but they are all partly responsible, some more than others .

they are all responsible how horrid are these Companies

Really! Arize2hopeCharity Facebook Instagram LivesOverKnives EnoughIzEnough Bristol UK JoinUs LetsMakeAchange Arize2hope.co.uk

Always someone elses fault

Presumably that will be for the inquiry/Police/CPS and the Courts to decide in due course, insurers/lawyers will not allow anything else to happen at this stage, Breach of legal duty/law/negligence will need to be proved to a Court's/Juries satisfaction in due course !

I fear that at the end of this inquiry and any other case or trial nobody will be found responsible for this disaster.

Failure of government policy to deregulate. Failure of successive (multiple) ministers to heed the warnings from experts. Failure of ministers to implement the recommendations of Lakanal. Failure of testing. Moral failures of suppliers.

It was and appears still the case for government to design & build ghettos

Truly shocking! These companies should be made to take responsibility for their products , like the banks over misselling PPI.

It was the pixies!

How does that work?

passing the buck their favourite pastime

Well there’s a surprise. Check the tender document, check the spec, check the order, check the installation info, check the sign off. Someone somewhere got it horribly wrong & to deny culpability makes a mockery of those who died. Shame on you

What a surprise.

Imagine it has something to do with the fella who started it needing to take some responsibility?

Unless those companies set fire to the building then they aren’t responsible.
