. Sometimes, I think that is the summit of the prime minister’s arrogance – that he finds the English language incomplete without the interjection of his baby words. At other times, I think his arrogance is more like the mountain in a Japanese etching: there is no “top”, there is only “more” and “cloud”.
People totally comfortable to shame vaccine hesitant though...
this is such a tragic newspaper.
Overweight folks & esp w bad lifestyles as smoking, drugs, stress..etc r more at risk 4 heart diseases, hypertension, diabetes, cancer, arthritis, dementia & other diseases than those who aren't, costing HC-COVERAGE extra $$ w less productivity at work.
Nobody wants to hear this but It’s not ok to teach people it’s ok to be fat. Shame the people that think it is and then you’re doing people a real favor.
Especially hard if you die , or become chronically ill, due to vulnerabilities arising from obesity..
God don’t you just hate the arrogance of the opinionated columnists raging about the arrogance of the PM making up “thinnies” while at the same time making up “fat-hate” zoesqwilliams
It's bad to bully. Don't 'shame' people for it. It is unhealthy. It shouldn't be normalized. Motivate people to eat healthier and have some more exercise.
Why the tears over facts, I'm fat, and that's my fault, no one else's, another fact, being fat doesn't look good either.
Who is doing this fat shaming? Media and Health authorities might point out the link and explore it, if people feel shame by factual information, that is not shaming. Social media comments on the other hand are the usual foul mouthed attacks we get on any subject.
Wot? There's no 'glee' among some of us logical people! 🙄There's a definite link between obesity and poorer outcome with Covid19 . It's just what we're seeing in the results. The good thing is that people can do something about it! You can reduce your risk by becoming fit. 🙂
Fat shaming is only going to make matters worse. Just like everything else, education and support from others—and yes eating healthier—are the answers
Well don’t be fat.
The ICUs are full of fat people, obesity is one of the most dangerous underlying conditions. Be fat if you want, but there is no other way around it: covid might kill you. If you are offered a vaccine because you are fat, just put it on and shut up.
But there is a link. There's a link between a lot of illnesses and obesity. You can argue about so society as much as you want but biology isnt listening.
What an absolute nothingness of an article.
zoesqwilliams 1/3 a better response is to help obese people lose weight rather than complain about hurtful slights imaginary or otherwise. Obesity isn't like the skin/eye colour. We (I am obese but thankfully shrinking) usually want to change but need decent advice to do so.
Natural selection 👌
Please, please, please is it so wrong to want everyone to be healthy?
All underlying conditions to the front of the line.
Still love air travel, one bloke 12stone slightly over luggage allowance charged for it. Massively obese woman 20 stone, and luggage just under, on you go. If you choose to eat, expect a bill.
Overweight people are there to balance those who are thick racist homophobic plebs in society
Being nice about obesity doesn’t work, telling the truth that you will die if you dont move and stop eating is the kind thing to do. Nature will have its way, no matter what woke Twitter says.
What about that fat fucccck the PM then. And all the fat fuccccks in the HoC and HoL? Trying to shift the blame for their abject failure on Covid onto the population
But...but...who is? Ohhhhh...buy...is him.... Benny.... Bennyyyyy Hill...😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Shaming aside, wouldn’t it be better to target the next lot of vaccines at the obese under 50s? This skinny 53 year old would be happy to see the doses go where they would make most difference even if I have to wait longer for mine.
'My friend was in his forties, healthy and died of Covid' Me: *checks social media* Fat as fuck! Though so. Sorry not sorry.
This is too stupid to be headline for the onion. Is The Guardian's editor asleep at the wheel? WTF?
Fat shakers?! Other than the over 80’s the only real ones at risk were the fatties! Good job Boris opened KFC and closed the gyms
Our PM apparently, I give up
So XW says there is a causation between obesity and ill-health. But this is Johnson's fault? 'No, I am pretty sure there is a noise – disapproval, snobbery, judgment, a constant, wordless buzz.' Could be true.
Aquí está el 'pollo loco'
They can’t fight back with a doughnut in each hand can they
Well, if you lose the weight..............
Made $10k on $AVGR LATE DAY Friday, so I’m giving away $100 to anyone who follows and retweets, first 20 DM’s
Same chart every Friday. No surprise.
How dare a virus be fat phobic.
We are the fattest country in Europe and have the highest death rate. A little shame wouldn't hurt.
facts hurt. get over it
I am not complaining, fast route to vaccine and passport! Pass me a doughnut!
They deserve it. Nobody’s fault but their own.
But it’s a fact covid affects people who are obese more than others
Leave my fat alone! 😫😆
I get you shouldn’t be nasty to people, but I used to smoke and people had no qualms in telling me I shouldn’t. Then again, who knows if that helped
Being obese is unhealthy and it makes you more susceptible to all kinds of illness, not just covid. That is the truth.
The WHO fat shaming.
Exercise. Diet. Being fat isn’t good.
The truth hurts!!!
It’s hard to fight back in the same way as many self inflicted ailment.
Fat burns 😏
I made $35k this week on $HKIB, so I am giving away $75 to anyone who follows and retweets, first 25 to DM, must be American
