Covid: Fake strays surge post-lockdown sees more dogs put downCloseThe pandemic has led to an "unprecedented" rise in the number of "fake stray" dogs, where new lockdown pet owners pretend their dogs have been abandoned so they can get rid of them.

Not related, kinda; We had dogs for 20 plus years as soon as we started renting every house we looked at the landlord states NO PETS. I understand why but we're a good family with a good rental and pet history. This breaks my heart. cruelworld landlord HousingCrisis dogs 😡😡 I know a lot of people getting turned down for really ridiculous reasons when trying to get a rescue dog! These are people who will provide a loving forever home and always be very responsible. Instead these poor dogs are being euthanised! Where is the sense in that?
I'd love the one in the picture. It would love it on a boat and wasn't it bbc promoting dog breeders during lockdown “Will my puppies make me rich?” 😪 Could at least ship them to South Korea, where they would be put to good use.🤡 What a society we live in, when we can’t even look after our most vulnerable, two & four legged!!! I hate the way we are going. 💔
How sad There really are some arseholes in the world: last year, after Charlie died in April, we were waiting 4 months for Scarlett, as all the rescue centres had waiting lists due to the explosion in fair-weather doggie adoption. How many of those poor creatures have since been dumped? 💔
