MoD lawyers has admitted breaching duty of care towards Mr Muyepa, but later accused him of "exaggerating" after a dance video of him emerged.MoD barrister Andrew Ward told High Court Judge John Kimbell QC a new witness claims Muyepa discussed “packing ice blocks around his feet” to dupe doctors’ infrared equipment.

Mr Ward told the judge: "Our case is that the claim is entirely fraudulent.” Muyepa says non-freezing cold injuries - AKA trench foot - left him with crippling pain in his hands and feet.He says his injury occurred during exercises in Wales, where he entered a cold water-filled tunnel, remaining in his wet boots and he was later diagnosed with non-freezing cold injury AKA trench foot. headtopics.com

But he was exposed again at Salisbury Plain in early 2017, when he worked outdoors. His barrister Laura Collignon said his condition subsequently worsened with "very severe" cold sensitivity in his feet.”He was medically discharged in January 2018 and started his compensation claim, saying he can only walk around 100m with a stick and stand for 10 minutes.

His £3.7m claim includes over £800,000 for loss of career and £1.7m to pay for carers. But the MoD say video footage of him dancing showed him being "much more mobile" than he had made out.Another facebook post showed him performing as a DJ.

Mr Ward told the court: "Our case is that the claim is entirely fraudulent, that the claimant discussed with someone else packing ice blocks around his feet to fool the infrared thermography tests at the Institute of Naval Medicine.”He said the MoD the new witness evidence means they will withdraw the breach of duty admission.

Experts will be asked whether ice blocks could fool the machinery.Mr Muyepa denies the MoD’s dishonesty and exaggeration claims and continuing his claim. Read more: Daily Mirror »
