NI protocol threatening UK and costing £850million a year - cash wasted because of EU

Northern Ireland protocol was not fit for purpose in an impassioned speech on Thursday morning. He noted that senior economist Dr Esmond Birnie warned that the protocol could be costing the UK as much as £850 million a year. He insisted this could be better spent elsewhere on areas of concern like healthcare and schooling. He added that the opportunity to use this money elsewhere was being wasted due to the EU's insistence the UK stick to damaging Northern Ireland protocol.

Plenty of people spoke of this situation happening but were dismissed as project fear.🤔

ConSocialists 'promises mean zero' chickens are all a bunch of liars lacking personal honour. Plenty of wasteful spending could be ditched before clobbering us with more taxes when we're already down after C19 - not that they'd understand that as they continued to get 100% pay.

The NI Protocol is part of the deal negotiated, signed and hailed as “brilliant” by Johnson and supported by Brexiteers including no doubt the Express. If it’s anyone’s fault that £850 million is being wasted, look a bit closer to home
