Emily Thornberry taken to hospital after being knocked off bike in Westminster

SHADOW minister Emily Thornberry was rushed to hospital after being knocked off her bike near Parliament.reportedly collided with a taxi at around lunchtime today in Westminster close to the House of Commons.Credit: Alamy Live News

Thornberry - the Islington South and Finsbury MP - was taken to A&E after paramedics and cops raced to the scene. A spokesperson for the shadow foreign secretary said: "Emily is recovering in hospital, and is hugely grateful for the support of the ambulance crew and A&E staff who have helped her since this incident.She has since been discharged, with well-wishers flooding her Twitter to wish her a speedy recovery.
