‘free truths’ are much more important than ‘free speech’. If something is baseless or there’s no evidence, I don’t see a reason for it to be pushed to the community at large. We need a twitter to work more how the scientific community does not the defacto town square.

Imagine a town square with 217 million people all speaking at the same time. That's not what Elon is imagining. Some voices need to be elevated above the background noise and Elon wants to be the person who decides who gets elevated. That's a scary proposition.
