Elon Musk says Tesla will no longer accept bitcoin due to fossil fuel use

The digital currency is created when high-powered computers compete against other machines to solve complex mathematical puzzles, anprocess that currently often relies on electricity generated with fossil fuels, particularly coal.

I'd like to believe that this is just an environmental thing. I cant help wondering if it's because Tesla is not allowed to count bitcoin sales as profits, only intangible assets
