Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte was unable to visit his dying mother in her final weeks because he obeyed coronavirus restrictions against visiting care homes, his office has said.

In Chile, President sebastianpinera attended the funeral of his uncle, a bishop who died with Covid. There were more people than allowed, the body was not in a bag and the President asked to open the coffin lid to see him. A deputy denounced the case.

Translate the vid and your opinion will change. This will NOT go away. Dit kan ECHT NIET terug in de kast!

There are reports that he visited her on her final night (but not in the weeks before-hand). This was permitted in the rules. Did you verify this?

May her soul rest in eternal peace👏🏾

DeborahMeaden Honestly, Dominic Cummings should find a tall building, climb to the very top, and do everyone a favor by reflecting on life for a while, and don't bother coming down until he's thought long and hard about what he's done and is ready to apologise. 🙄😏

🤷🏻‍♂️

DeborahMeaden Take note cummings.

DeborahMeaden Cue the lockdown fanatics in Britain frotting over Mark Rutte. He’ll be their new lockdown hero stick to beat Britain with.

SheronBoyle1 Some nations have leaders with integrity

Is this true?

DoddsJane How irresponsible! But perhaps she lived more than 264 miles away and he didn't have a full tank of fuel handy. CummingsOutNow Covid19UK

tomelce Leadership. What the UK is so sorely lacking.

Care to hound this one as well....

shahmiruk Take note BorisJohnson and crew

acgrayling Whoever you are there are very hard decisions to be made during your life, the PM of the Netherlands met his responsibility with integrity a I salute him for that. The British PM should crawl back into his self defined Ditch.

acgrayling Yeah, but he's Dutch. He's not a white privately educated English male.

acgrayling So what

acgrayling ScumMedia

acgrayling Amazing the different in reporting. One rule for one eh... You were right?

Leadership and integrity.

DC probably regards him as an uncaring and heartless son for not interpreting the lockdown rules in such a way as to suit his circumstances. In fact, he showed real leadership by adhering to the rules along with the rest of the Dutch people

Leadership must be consistent and practise what it preaches unlike BrexitShambles UK morally bankrupt hypocrites!

Idiotic people who rule us 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Fuck the lockdown. I'd be going to see my dying mother.

BorisJohnson THIS is how you govern a nation - lead by example. Not ‘Do as I say, don’t do as I do’. Watch and learn! DominicCummings

Damn, if only he had spoken to Dominic Cummings, he would have found a solution.

Of course Mark rutte couldn’t visit his mother due to the corona virus but it doesn’t make him a bad person

More the fool then 🤗

What's arch EU Fanboy Leo's excuse?

FFS he had a 4yr old to care for with 2 possible Covid19UK parents. And his house under constant threat by your readers FakeNewsAlert is this news or opinion ScumMedia

he followed the rules

Having your eyesight checked is more of an emergency it seems

WvSchaik Sad! Me too: my mother died in Ireland, with neither I nor my brother able to visit beforehand or attend her funeral, because of travel restrictions. Many, many of us will have suffered such losses by the time this is all over.

Labour MP Mr Ali went to a funeral with 100 other mourners. Nothing to see there.

Not that dc would give a shit about this man's sacrifice, it's all about control, dc's control over Johnson & rest of UK.

Good grief. markrutte is trying to run a country. Why do we want to know all about this. Some things used to be seen as private. This is none of your business. Let him grieve in peace.

How many families had to say goodbye to their loved one via FaceTime? How many people have been unable to attend their loved ones funeral? They didn’t like these rules, but they obeyed them.. Meanwhile WM’s own Stevie Wonder decides to tear up the motorway while riddled with 🦠

Dominic Cummings didn’t visit his dying uncle. ScumMedia

Leading by example. He cared for his mother for years. He also holds down a part-time job on friday before Cabinet-meetings teaching history-classes at schools in disadvantages neighborhoods.

You know what, I personally would have.

Why would you not visit your mother?

The rules are not made because people hate people, want their mothers to die alone. The rules made in a pandemic are to prevent everyone’s mothers and the rest of their families from dying too. He balanced his needs with the lives of others, heartbreaking choice to have to make.

How sad

Get over yourselves Guardian... Your lie filled story is dead in the water

I ruler privilege in Holland then!

OMG - FIRST mention of another country & it also got virus!!! Now - follw it up with how well they all doing, no mistakes, low figures, economies fine, citizens delighted. Oh - hold on - they all furious, dying, economy dead & streets got protests & 49% EU citizens want Leave.

The way to bamboozle them is to pretend you’re a good dad and visit tourist sites miles away mate 😉

How many times do we need to repeat the DominicCummings didn't go to the funeral of his uncle when he died? Finding suitable childcare for a 4yr old autistic kid is perfectly within the rules.

This is what leadership looks like

What a ridiculous piece of journalism.

He is dutch, they are cold pirate thiefs.

Here you go DominicCumins choke on this

Because he is a heartles carrierist bastard.

I mean if you really care, you'd find a way. It's not like the Dutch were under lockdown around May 13. People are literally out there having picnics in the park with '1.5m' distance

Right, ditto for like hundreds of thousands of other people

Cummings mother wasn't dying. A small but important point.

MattJAndrews26

Hold on you forget this guy has death threats scum media and nutters constantly on his case if I'd have been in his position I would not have risked my son being in that house with a chance of me and my husband going down with the virus none of you would so ffs move on

piersmorgan clearly didn't love his mum & was a sh1t son. Like you piously virtue-signalling about not seeing your Sons, where, if you really wanted to, could have done (several times) on the sly already. Nexxxttt.

stupid man

And he didn’t have covid

This is leadership by example.

And Cummings was unable to visit his dying uncle

I would have gone to be honest or at least done everything I could be have tried.

Did as he was telling everyone to do, what a contrast to the UK!

I guess he really didn't love his mum. But hey, it was his choice and I respect it

260 miles from home... A day trip on his wife's birthday, 30 miles FURTHER out to a beauty spot, in the hight of lockdown, sat by the river, then home via another beauty spot for a wee wee and children playing... All to test his eyes. While the rest the country die alone and rot

If only Denmark had their own version of Durham and Barnard Castle. The sight tests would improve in the country

Has Rutte implemented the democratic result of the Ukraine referendum? One that was a resounding loss for the europhiles? No hr hasn't, denying democracy! Well let's hail this chap as a hero then, pfff!

He must not of loved her very much.

Cummings did not go and visit somebody who was dying, why is what he did being constantly compared to people dying, surely his story is closer to people driving hundreds of miles to collect purchases and sitting on the park for too long

More fool him then. No rules would have stopped me

It must've been heartbreaking to not be there. and if funerals are the same as here - he may not even be able to say goodbye at the funeral home or even the cemetary.

If she was dying anyway, what use was it to stay away?

To even compare Mark Rutte to BJ and DC is an insult to him.

That’s how you set an example Downing Street. Thanks for sharing this 🙏🏽

Not just him. Cheif Minister of Uttar Pradesh (Province in India) didn't attend the funeral of his father, instead scheduled and attended an emergency meeting regarding the Covid-19 outbreak.

Cummings thinks he is exceptional

Must have hated her

One cold bastard, there!

My in laws helped their dying father every day. They had to because the wonderful NHS wanted him out of hospital.

And also because he cannot stand her

What a sad little man

Honorable man to not live above the law.

According to the UK government Rutte should have used his instinct and he didn’t think his circumstances exceptional enough. He’s therefore a mug for not caring enough to visit his dying mum. DominicCummings

Can we swap Boris for this guy?

I went for 20 minutes per day when my father was dying, with gloves and mask on. It's horrible and very traumatic. Rutte is not my politician, but he deserves nothing less than our respect and condolences for his loss.

?

So the 'rules' were more important. How sad for a man not to have discernment.

Funny noones recalled Stephen Kinnock MP for driving to wish his dad a happy birthday during lockdown ....you lot can get over yourselves

Nice to see some world leader lead by example. Hope the so called super powers can learn from them.

That's a pretty cold bastard.

Same as thousands of Brits didn't. Due to rules set out by a team of MPs and advisors.
