The mum of one of the teenage girls killed by Colin Pitchfork has said ‘a leopard never changes its spots’ days after he was put back behind bars

Barbara Ashworth, whose 15-year-old daughter Dawn was murdered by the predator in 1986, told the paper this proved there was no way the ‘psychopath’ would be cured of his lust for young women.

Pitchfork’s arrest has now prompted fresh calls for an urgent reform of the Parole Board, which deemed he was no longer a danger to the public back in June.The convicted child killer was spotted walking in a park near young families after his recent release He commented after the arrest: ‘It’s a surprise to hear that the authorities have been physically tracking Pitchfork.

Pitchfork became the very first person in the world to be convicted of such crime using DNA evidence and was jailed for a minimum of 30 years, with the term cut by two years in 2009.He was released from prison in September and driven to a hostel in an undisclosed location in the south of England.
