Save time by listening to our audio articles as you multitaskIn his much more lurid confessional, “A Sacred Oath”, Mark Esper describes his tenure at the Department of Defence as an 18-month white-knuckle effort to prevent Mr Trump starting “unnecessary wars”, launching “strategic retreats” and causing “politicisation of the” and “misuse of the military”.
Hair-raising accounts of the Trump presidency are now so familiar it is easy to become complacent about them. Mr Trump’s authoritarian instincts and lack of principle are a matter of record. Even so, Mr Esper’s memoir stands out for a few reasons. That, importantly, chimes with a common defence of Mr Trump which Republican politicians are already starting to dust off, as the prospects of his running again in 2024 increase. He was unconventional, but had great and successful policies, it is said. Yet, as Mr Esper makes clear, unwittingly at times, that was not true. The Trump administration did a lot of solid work, as all governments do . But such progress was generally made despite Mr Trump, often surreptitiously.
... ecco in questo caso fare l'elenco dei difetti richiede un po' più di tempo che dei pregi (ahahahaha!)
This is not true...
Why is not my post with the picture of this, For I said that the Cartoon of Trump being restrained from his actions by a White House chief of staff is more true in the cartoon than a thousand words of his vile behavior?
He is not the one responsible for the shipments of billions of dollars in weapons that will inevitably be on the European black market. Civil war is coming big time all over Europe.
BLM riots of summer 2020.
Good example of why I don't read The Economist.
And no one believes Mark Esper, so don't worry about it.
Someone not in office; You're talking about Donald Trump. Former President Donald John Trump.
I call BS. If you 'kept him at bay' then you'd be fired. Thats how Trump is. You sat there and now, you wrote a book of fabrications. Why didn't you quit if it was so immoral? Because you were preventing WW3. BS!
No reason to be suspicious of a guy who has an axe to grind, didn't have the balls to do anything at the time and stands to make millions now in book sales, nope no reason at all.
Esper is simply selling a book, willing to say anything, as political newbie writers often do- he follows a host of first timers that are looking to exploit their ‘recall and remembered’ experiences for a payout. Left or Right the Hacks are after a buck.
I kind of imagine it being like fear and loathing in las vegas except with more drugs..
Mark Esper's capitalizing of this disastrous administration is even more terrifying..
I'm а nudе mоdеl, rаtе mу рhоtоs
Something wrong with taking the cartels out? I like the idea
Blah blah blah
