The failure to suspend the Tory MP accused of rape is a mark of dire Commons’ standards

If this does not represent a definitive statement that principled behaviour is a more serious offence within Johnson’s party than an allegation of serious sexual assault, his list of new peers had already confirmed that his indifference to possible abuses of power extends far beyond simple nepotism.

In Nigeria it already is.

That’s right, Corbyn shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the place.

In the U.S., we call the 'squalid haven for those who abuse power' the White House.

I agree..UKLabour MPs voting with ankle tags, one just sentenced for child porn, Keir_Starmer DavidLammy complicit in taking bribes to allow grooming gangs. NazShahBfd hushing up grooming gangs and JonAshworth not reporting Leicester sweat shops. 10DowningStreet clean it up

Minor point, but removing the whip from the MP in question would not “relieve him of his parliamentary duties”; he would still be an MP, with all the rights and duties that entails. He simply wouldn’t be a Conservatives one.

If this govt represents the majority in this country then we are truly lost

The government truly represent the society that elected them. Let that sink in.... We are a sick nation.

Parliament is a squalid self enriching enterprise already. The expenses trough & hypocrisy across all parties is blatant. Many appear to use their positions to get lucrative bungs from influencer groups to skew national policy. At the end of their tenure it's off to the lords.

England's school behaviour tsar: 'Letting children off again and again is like a snooze alarm'I object to being called Tory Tom, says Tom Bennett, whose approach to school discipline is ‘very low tolerance’ Sounds like a fascist. UK still has more covid19 deaths than the entire EU I think he makes some very good points about consistency and ensuring you only have rules you intend to enforce. I try really hard to adopt this approach with my son and he responds well, I think because he knows I only make a point when it really matters.
