Doctors condemn secrecy over false negative Covid-19 tests

Doctors’ leaders have condemned ministers and Public Health England for throwing a “shroud of secrecy” over how many coronavirus tests on NHS staff and patients produce wrong results.

ptsafetylearn have raised several safety concerns around falsenegatives. The lack of reporting is a worry, not only to infection control but also to mental health outcomes and misdiagnosis.

Has this been secret? In the country where I live we are reminded this many times to explain why we have such low number PCR tests... I was tested negative but *personally* “negative” does not change anything. it’s about picking up positives and lowering R down in *population.*

So I have heard of doctors testing negative, still having symptoms but having to go to work in hospitals. Then there are doctors who tested positive but were required to work if they weren't too sick.

jb_1969 The so-called 15 minute test that Trump and the WH staff supposedly take. When you think about it, it’s kind of funny. They are the only ones that can get this test. It speaks volumes about this Administration. And a little Karma.

Why is secrecy ALWAYS this government’s default position? They ALWAYS take the Jack Nicholson approach: ‘you can’t handle the truth’? The virus is not an enemy that might have spies listening, FFS. ‘Tell the truth and shame the Devil’ (in this case the devil is Cummings, obvs).

Trump has beaten himself by not leading doing this virus. Calling the virus a hoax for two months and selling snake oil and bleach as a cure.
