The gap between the first and second dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine must be reduced to ensure the vaccine is effective, senior doctors have warned.
But world renowned epidemiologist Tony Blair said it's ok.
It is amoral & ugly that the Guardian has put a Registration Wall on a COVID-related publication! As a general rule, I avoid (as much as possible) re/tweeting publications by publishers resorting to such desperate actions aimed at maximizing registration amid a global crisis.
I continue to read with concern the lack of evidence behind governments decision to delay second dose to 12 as this was never part of the trial there is some data related to the Astra Zeneca jab but we seem to be working on a scientific/political whim rather than basing on data
If the Gov’t does not honour the 3 week gap between the first and second Pfizer vaccine jab, then they are losing all the benefits of the first jab as it loses its efficacy. What a waste! Think!
Its the same old story the government do what they want, its like the Brexit bus, full of crap, it should be given how it was supposed to be, not by them making up rules as they go along.
Why fully vaccinate and protect 2m people when you can make 4m much less protected? It's all about getting the first needle in as many arms as possible so they think the end is nearer. Just wait until those who've had one dose start dying of covid before they got the second.
Yes, lots of medical experts are saying this. Perhaps we should all have blood tests to measure the antibodies the vaccine has given us. I’m all for having the three week gap! X
This is this, not evidence-free Covid treatment? Where is trail data for a single dose vaccine?
The Government must have different rules for different vaccines.Your prescription have always told you their rules, ‘take twice a day after food’, or ‘take 1 spoon every 4 hours’, they don’t all act in the same way. Politicians, keep your nose out and do what pharmacists tell you.
This shouldn’t even be a demand! The manufacturer said they have only assessed a 3 week gap. That’s what the Govt. should have done! “Oh BuT wE gAvE x MiLlIoN vAcCiNaTiOnS” No you just gave them half a dose which is not a complete vaccination.
Pfizer recommended it too but UK government decided it knew better, even after abundant evidence to the contrary.
