Coroner says Padstow's traditional May Day 'must be properly managed'

Laura Smallwood died in hospital in May 2019 after Padstow May Day festival. Inquest heard 34-year-old was struck in the head by a wooden horse costume.

Known as an Obby 'Oss, the costumes have been part of parade for 200 years. The event, which attracts 20,000 people each year, is organised by local groups. But coroner Andrew Cox today said event should be 'professionally managed'
