measures should not have come as a surprise, so it is vital that assurances are provided that proper planning has been undertaken.

Labour's challenge came as Mr Johnson gave an animated and at times passionate TV address appealing to the public to obey the rules or face much tougher lockdown rules."Never in our history has our collective destiny and our collective health depended so completely on our individual behaviour," he said.

"I am deeply, spiritually reluctant to make any of these impositions, or infringe anyone's freedom, but unless we take action the risk is that we will have to go for tougher measures later, when the deaths have already mounted and we have a huge caseload of infection such as we had in the spring." "From tomorrow, we are all being asked not to visit each other's homes because we know that this is often how the virus spreads most easily from one household to another," she said.

Oh ffs. labour just bleat and bleat and just weaken the country’s resolve to tackle Covid19UK. Nothing constructive just complaining

The military have well-rehearsed contingency plans in place to support police services, with 500 military personnel now available to backfill armed guarding duties if required by the Home Office The military will not be undertaking any public-order or enforcement activities

There are many roles the military can help with, which are backfill and support. You might like to know that even RMPs go through initial police training before they can patrol as a qualified officer. However they are likely to be able to assist police much like specials.Sir P 🧐

It's about the military started accompanying Police officers. If every copper had 4 squaddies as back up how many officers would be assaulted like we constantly see now?

Demand, demand, demand, that’s all labour do. Leave our government alone to get on with trying to fight this virus. Stop interfering, the governments job is hard enough

Because there are not enough Police.

If labour reckon they have the answer to combating this virus I demand they explain it to us and to Boris instead of goading him all the time.

In some countries, army are already being used to help out. Why not in this country? Police here are being beaten in some cases.

Should have happened months ago

In other words: we want to criticise this but need to know what we are criticising first. Labour: the party with a rear-view mirror so big that they can't see where they are going. inittogether togetherwewillbeatthis

Aha, today’s momentum morning anti government propaganda rhetoric. The military have been helping the olive for the last 10 months. There is nothing new in this situation. But as the mouthpiece for Momentum, Sky Paparazzi will blow this one up for the day.

Cant see that happening in Ireland

Fancy being so juvenile as to follow news outlets, any news outlet, on Twitter, simply to make disparaging comment about anyone, and everyone? Sad times. Sad people. 🤷‍♀️.

Use the army... zero redress orright of lawful appeal on fines!! This is not any kind of democracy or governing lawfully! It is fascism plain and simple!! Protecting by public health laws they run rampant with the public purse and lawful suppression of rights

When even Labour are questioning Johnson's authoritarianism you know he's gone too far.

'COVID Support Force: the MOD’s contribution to the coronavirus response - to 2020 government policy: Military Aid to the Civil Authorities for activities in the UK -

Oh shit I thought these guys were chasing a dinosaur

So they've cut 22,000 officers, lots of police stations, many experienced officers have gone and now they want to use the army on civilians?

Why threaten us with the army on the streets but he can't use the navy to stop the invasion of illegals from France? How many thousands already bringing the Chinese desease into the UK, stop them!!!!!

Cummings and Johnson start their march towards dictatorship, U.K. you were warned and gammons your also your blame.

Im lost with it all now Hes blaming everyone for this n that when he told us to go and eat out etc Now its threatened with military action I mean talk about confused

Buy another water canon.

Yes, enquiring minds would like to know!

incase someone havin lager on rooftop, send RAF.

Obsessed with the Military. Just start a fucking war if you want to use the Military that bad Boris.

Is that a gathering of 30 people send the SAS

So if there are going to be any protests will he turn the Military on them just like China..?

Its the leaf on the track all over again, one drop of rain and everyone runs for cover.

Mark Francois will launch commando raids on pub goers

It’s like Trump sending in the National Guard to kick BLM and Antifa’s arse’s.

marshal law that's it👈

We need soldiers on the steets of we have another lockdown. People are taking the piss

Grenade getting thrown at you when they catch you having that 10:01 beer

There’s that word again “urged”
