Professor Van-Tam says:"It will be based on the number of positive tests, the number of new hospital admissions with confirmed coronavirus, the number of people going to ICU, and the number of deaths. Ruth May says:"It's very frustrating to see people clearly not doing social distancing and clearly going out in large groups.

She says it would not be appropriate to comment on any specific deaths but that the NHS will want to learn lessons from the pandemic once it is over.Professor Van-Tam:"This is a very vexed and very emotive issue with citizens around the world."We do remain convinced that there's just not the evidence base to support general face mask wearing among the public.

"We are able to get on with the day-to-day things and do what's needed while the PM recovers," he adds.Mr Hancock says it's a"constant effort" to get PPE to the frontline.
