Andrew Neil looked down the camera on Thursday night, addressing an audience of millions, and challenged Boris Johnson to face a primetime one-on-one interview about his suitability for the highest office in the country.A senior Tory party source has responded to Neil’s challenge to appear on the BBC One leaders’ interviews by saying live televised interviews are anachronistic and pointless: “The public are fed up with interviews that are all about the interviewer and endless interruptions.
He's a great yellow wobbly jelly. That such a man should be Prime Minister of this country, is a national embarrassment.
Well that’s not exactly been broadcast in full, glorious Technicolor! I think political interviewing needs to change much more in the direction of Mr Neil’s style. Utter cowards!!!
I dismiss the Conservatives..
This is all they can do, having accused everyone else of cowardice, admitting to an actual case of it is hard.
Anyone that fat must smell like hot pork in the sun - I don’t blame Boris for not wanting to be interviewed by him
Conservatives dismiss any kind of scrutiny & their supporters don't seem to care. When has Boris actually ever had a successful project? He said we would never ask for a EU extension, He said he would fight tooth & nail to stop Heathrow 3rd runway, He didn't even turn up to vote
This is not a campaign norm they are breaking with. it is an overall plan because Boris is a complete failure at responding and also a sense of entitlement. He has refused to answer Parliamentary Committees and when Commons summonsed him to answer questions.
They really don't need any f....ing interviews, since majority of 'media' is suckin' their dicks, while holds the candle...
Since when 'general expectation' turned into a 'traditional campaign norm'? Who said those norms had to be determined by the media? It's the parties' campaign, and it's theirs to determine how they campaign. And if they don't want an overnready (=biased) interview, so be it...
Whyever would that be?
Public got fed up with the format quickly. Obviously we were very interested when Conservatives were drawing our attention to the jeremycorbyn awful interview.
Sensible decision. Neil would crush Johnson. Corbyn and the labour camp misjudged it big time.
The fact Boris would rather sit in a classroom with primary school children than face afneil says it all about his intellect
I once met Johnson, years back when he was promoting Academies in London. I was with some intelligent young teenagers and when he left they asked, 'Is he really that stupid or is he putting it on?'. At the time I warned them that it was all an act but now I'm not so sure...
They appear to be running scared of the interview.
