Chef Michel Roux Sr dies aged 79

His family described him as a “humble genius” who had an “insatiable appetite” for life. Roux had a profound influence on British cooking and eating. He was said to have died from a longstanding lung condition, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

I’m gutted... he was a joy to watch on telly, just the loveliest, twinkle in the eye, charming and affable. 😢😢

So very sad to hear of Michel Roux Snr passing. He used to visit my localthebeehivewhitewaltham regularly. He had impeccable taste! Completely charming when my new puppy jumped up on him. I’ve always admired his culinary skills but a Gentleman too . Love to his family
