A damning investigation reveals at least five officers at West Midlands Police failed to appropriately deal with repeated reports of domestic abuse and a woman in fear of her life - until it was too late.

An investigation into the police handling of the murder of two women in Solihull has been described as"shocking" and"profoundly disturbing.

"Our investigation found that satisfactory intelligence checks were not carried out when responding to incidents involving Raneem and her ex-partner. On the night they died, Ms Oudeh rang police four times fearing for her safety after reporting she and her mother had been assaulted by Tarin at a shisha bar in Birmingham.Desperate 999 call hours before murderMr Campbell added:"It was apparent there were police resourcing issues and a lack of clear communication about their response over the next few hours before the fatal attack took place outside Raneem's mother's home.

West Midlands Police assistant chief constable Andy Hill admitted"we should have done more", and Raneem and Khaola's family's dignity throughout the inquest"has been humbling".

Police errors contributed to Solihull deathsRaneem Oudeh and her mother Khowla Saleem were both stabbed to death in Solihull in August 2018. Islam and third world practices caused the death of these women. Not the police’s fault. Blame should be pinned on the murderer and what also is clearly a cultural issue from a certain religion where women feel and are threatened. Multiculturalism working well again in the UK. This is just awful ! That condescending Police operator talking to her like she was over reacting is despicable. They young girl was obviously terrified for herself & her mother & the operator told her to lock the door & they may see them tomorrow but they died there& then.😔
