CASUALTY has been cancelled this evening as the BBC has decided to undertake a change to its Saturday evening schedule. Here is everything you need to know about why the medical drama isn't on.

The first episode of the night will begin at 5:30pm and will air for 90 minutes before coming to an end at 7pm.This is when coverage of Strictly will begin as all 15 couples perform the first time in front of the viewing public and the judges.Due to how many performances there will be, the show is airing a bumper instalment of around two hours and 20 minutes.

Following this programme, Global Citizen Live will carry on through until the early hours of the morning, meaning there is no space on the schedule for Casualty to air.Though fans need not fear as the medical drama is coming back with a bang after a fortnight off air as the Emergency Department has new threats to face.
