Canada's Chinese community faces racist abuse in wake of coronavirus

When Toronto resident Terri Chu tweeted that she and other Chinese mothers feared the “inevitable wave of racism” that would accompany the spread of coronavirus around the world, she didn’t realize how visceral the reactions would be.

Who would have thought the tolerant alt-left Canadian's were so racist. Oh wait they voted for this guy. Prime minister Tyrone Trudeau. It's a country full of liberal hypocrites.

I don’t think it’s racist to generally speak about hygiene issues which are obviously a huge contributing factor in the spread of the disease. Take a trip on the TTC and open your eyes! They think it may come from bats...maybe they should cook before eating

How would China react if a contagious & potentially fatal pandemic originated in Africa,India, Europe,Asia, wherever. How would people coming from these areas be treated in China ? We need fast action based on medical needs w/o pressure from the 'racism lobby.'

Considering how racist and xenophobic new Chinese “immigrants” are to other races and ethnicities it’s amazing how tolerant Canadians have been over the last 20 years. If anything Canada’s silence has helped to normalize widespread racism towards non Chinese.
