As part of our Inside Labour series, we look at how the grassroots movement will fare after party’s disastrous election defeat

There are two stand-out memories of the winter general election for Charlie Macnamara. First, the 25-year-old Momentum member’s data sheets melting to illegible shreds in the rain while knocking on doors. Second, the moment the exit poll came through after a 14-hour campaigning shift in Stevenage.

Hope not😀

Do we care?

No. The problem with the left is it doesn’t have an answer to immigration that satisfies natives. People will vote against their own interests in order to guarantee the other doesn’t get any unearned benefit and so far that problem is insurmountable everywhere.

Can labour in englandshire?

yeah probably :-)

The negative comments have no substance, pretty much using the brexiters project fear approach. Momentum is a branch of the labour force and quite motivated, the foot soldiers that labour needs to bang on doors and strogly support social issues.

Dear god I hope not. We need an electable opposition

Let’s hope not.

NO. There's many reasons it won't but the 'meanwhile' community centres in regen zones is totally off-the-mark!

Hopefully not!

Is he still there ? Wow, labour have problems. The worst candidate in a century is still the leader ...

I don't think we need Momentum. I'm a 'lefty' socialist and a Labour party member and I don't feel the need for a group or party within the party. I can support Labour just as well without Momentum.

Hope not

Hopefully not. They should bugger off, and start the (Lack Of) Momentum Party. See how popular their Militant 2.0 is.

If Momentum had the courage of its convictions it would go off and form the Momentum Party.

I bloody hope not

Of course they can. The lunatics have taken over the asylum

Yes

Hopefully not. Labour need to move to the middle to dispel the fears of radicalism and give them a chance at power.

Let's hope not

He hasn’t stood down YET!

Corbyn is crazy. No castle you can lock him in?

I hope not!!

Yes

Not sure but if the rumours are true the politics have a serious issue ...

Should think if anyone other than Long Baily wins they will storm off stage left with a handful of MPs and form some kind of Socialist party.

I hope so. It'll guarantee labour never achieve power again.

Let's hope not
