The city council says it appreciates the significance of the tunnels but fears they are not safe.

Nottingham Victoria station has largely been demolished but the tunnels still run underground

The tunnels - formerly part of the Great Central Railway - were used by trains to access Nottingham's Victoria station before it closed in 1967. In 2018, Nottingham City Council granted Ms Tanner access to run three tours of the south tunnel with around 25 guests.She said it was as if time had stood still.

"They're part of Nottingham's history. We've lost the station but the tunnels still exist and a lot of people don't know about them," she said.
