Father Colin Mason says the police 'did nothing' to investigate when he was attacked in Bristol.

Father Colin Mason said he explained to his attacker that he was a priest but "that had no effect at all"

Fr Mason said on the night of the attack the church hall had been rented for a party with the agreement that it would end at 22:00 BST. The priest said the initial police response was good, with four officers attending to close the party down and an ambulance was called to take him to Southmead Hospital.

Fair enough

So, odds on a Chief Constable having booked the party?

I sympathise with the Police battling against savage funding cuts and under-resourcing. However, this ugly incident really should have been followed up. With the name of the organiser available to them, it was hardly going to take countless police hours to find the culprits!

This isn't new. It's a reality. Unless someone is murdered, they literally couldn't give a shit. Standards are so low these days and it shouldn't matter whether it's a priest or Joe Bloggs down the street, these things need to be investigated.

All the police are interested is helping wokie protesters and speeding cars

See what you done with the headline there...

But not in God though, for allowing it to happen and not looking out for him…

Did he turn the other cheek?

Where was god?

But why didn't God protect him? He is supposed to be omnipotent and omnipresent.

Clearly his problem was reporting a on going party rather than describing a religious hate crime on himself....

So.... imagine, the police spoke to the organiser, and they had no clue which of the many guest beat him up. Imagine they refused to give names. Imagine there was no CCTV or witnesses. Now without any evidence, what are the police expected to do?

This is awful 😞

Yep.

The BBC go for a pun on a serious matter. Sad times.

the UK has no faith in our useless police

Once upon a time, it was his own church handing out beatings and torture. Interesting to see how little respect that church now has in the UK. Lets hope other countries will catch up soon!! Needless to say, there is no excuse for such thuggery. Big fines for them please

He should have told them someone said something nasty on the internet. They would have stormed in on one knee and sorted it immediately.

Not surprised. Having seen the failure to deal with the Insulate Britain, BLM etc issues.

The investigation is in gods hands now

Wow imagine if that was an Imam being beaten up on a mosques premises. The case would be followed up by the Chief Constable.

Sounds like it was off-duty police that beat him up. Perhaps we'll eventually find out.

Should have been a kid enjoying themselves on a scooter, they’d have been all over that!

The police can only do so much. It is the courts and the justice departments that are weak. Until we actually start punishing criminals with long sentences and bring back hanging for the most serious crimes we will continue to have incidents like this and worse

I’m sorry that sad 😞 we need this to stop. Pray 🙏🏽

I usually say acab.. but this time, good job!
