The Foreign Office have advised against all but essential travel since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, but a rule requiring passengers arriving into the UK to self-isolate for 14 days, including returning Brits, has only been in place since June 8.

On Thursday it emerged that the PM’s father, 79, flew to his four-bedroom villa in Pelion via the Bulgarian capital Sofia, as the Greek government has banned direct flights from the UK until mid-July. MPs said the incident ‘stinks of one rule for them and another rule for the rest of us’ and claimed it echoed No 10 aideHealth Secretary Matt Hancock has previously said foreign summer holidays are effectively cancelled following the Foreign Office travel warning.

Labour MP Kate Osborne tweeted: ‘They’re laughing directly in the face of people up and down this country. Shame.’

Let's be honest, it's a free for all. People can effectively travel anywhere they want and return without any intervention. The one caveat is that if you get Covid abroad you will not be let on to any flight, no insurance will cover you & then you must then comply with local laws
