THE UK is bracing for a weekend of rain and snow - with temperatures set to plunge as low as -7C in Scotland and the north of England.
Temperatures of just 8-9C will be cancelled out by fierce gales of between 40 and 50 mph - meaning it will feel as low as 0C when wind chill is factored in. On Saturday, the weather will be dry and bright throughout much of the country, particularly in the South - but the evening looks set for more snow.
