The US Navy successfully conducted a scheduled two-missile test launch of un-armed life-extended Trident D5LE nuclear missiles on Friday. The USS Wyoming , an Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine, tested two Trident II missiles before sending them to join the fleet. The US has a fleet of 14 Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines which have completed 184 successful missile test flights.
