Bicester Village shops 'having a tough time'

The daughter says the family"aren't worried" about the Coronavirus outbreak.

Announcements in Mandarin and Arabic are made over the tannoy as the train pulls in. Tourists make their way through a neon walkway and past an empty car park to the 160 shops on-site.A shop assistant at one store says they are"concerned" about how reliant Bicester Village is on tourism. They say:"It's been a double whammy. Storm Ciara also meant a lot of the trains and coaches from London were cancelled. It's really scary."

He says he uses hand sanitizer every five minutes. Stations are placed at the back of the store for staff, away from customers.

This is kind of funny as I lived in Croughton in the early ‘90s and Bicester was just a typical, Midlands village. I did a double take when I read this article... the fanciest store back then was the Tesco! bicestervillage

Finally, someone's talking about the real victims of all this, knock-off posh gear retail outlets.

Shame as it’s the quality worse than seconds or specially made for the Village by the factories in, er, China.
