Legendary Coronation Street actress Beverley Callard dramatically catapulted her builder husband into the limelight during her time in the I’m A Celebrity… castle last year. While singing his praises, she described Jon, her husband of 10 years, as a “megash*g”.
The couple, who met on a blind date, plan to move from Manchester to Kent with their Black Russian Terriers, Arthur and Elsie, to be closer to their blended family. Beverley is mum to Rebecca, 46, and Joshua, 31, while Jon is dad to Ben, 34, Jon, 31, and Danielle, 29. Beverley: I absolutely loved it. People were shocked that I drove because I’m a woman. But we are such numpties…Beverley: We went around a huge bend and the fridge door swung open. The dogs thought it was Christmas – there was cottage cheese, ham and smoked salmon flying everywhere!Jon: Our dogs are so big that when we’re out that’s all people see.
Beverley: When I came out of the castle, I looked like a disaster and Jon was waiting for me at the hotel. He just said, “Let’s do it. Let’s get married all over again.” It was like he proposed again.Jon: We don’t know. Our wedding was like a military operation.
