BENIDORM'S bar singer Asa Elliott has quit TV to become an ASDA delivery driver as his acting work has dried up.
The actor, 39, played the singer at the Solana Hotel from 2010 to 2014, before joining the cast of Benidorm Live in 2018/19.He was the singer at Neptune's BarAsa became a delivery driver for ASDA after the pandemic cancelled his singing jobs on cruise ships in March - just two weeks after the birth of his first child.
The singer has been delivering shopping to Hull residents since June, with some superfans spotting who was giving them their goods.Millions tuned in each week to watch the hour-long comedy for eleven years before it was cancelled by ITV and it went on to become a smash hit touring stage show.
A source said at the time: "'Benidorm' has been a huge success for ITV for a decade, but bosses feel it's run its course. “The ratings have started to drop off and a number of the fan favourites have left, so it just feels as though the time is right to let it go out while it's still on a high. It has been ITV's longest running comedy, which is a real achievement."
Well he hasn't quit, has he? Pretty sure he resided in Benidorm as a singer. His work hasn't dried up, it's been taken away from him, like countless others. He's doing what anyone would do, and got another job asaelliott?
