BBCRadio4 BBCSounds OwenPaterson Emmabarnett RPatersonTrust When I was suicidal, I was certain my family would be happier without me. The fact that dozens would be impacted by my death would have been irrelevant to me. What saved me was having faith that my Dr would take me seriously and try to help. He did and I’m better. Love to Owen
BBCRadio4 BBCSounds OwenPaterson Emmabarnett RPatersonTrust I lost my son to suicide 5 years ago. I grieve him every day. If we see people are low don’t be afraid to ask ‘are you feeling suicidal?’ It is my eternal regret I didn’t ask that question. PAPYRUS_tweets does really good work to prevent suicide among young people.
BBCRadio4 BBCSounds OwenPaterson Emmabarnett RPatersonTrust Heartbreaking listening to you. I'm so sorry for your loss. You are very brave to share your story.

BBCRadio4 BBCSounds OwenPaterson Emmabarnett RPatersonTrust My brother died by suicide 14years ago and I still wonder why every day. This is still a very poorly educated area of mental illness
Emmabarnett My uncle killed himself a week after my dad had, and 6 months after a close friend had. All the same way. So I'd disagree that an awareness of consequences will dissuade people, my experience is the opposite.
BBCRadio4 BBCSounds OwenPaterson Emmabarnett RPatersonTrust So how self aware is Owen Paterson? Can’t completely buy his side of the story.
BBCRadio4 BBCSounds OwenPaterson Emmabarnett RPatersonTrust So much love to OwenPaterson and family. Articulating his knowledge and thoughts on a subject that isn’t addressed enough.
BBCRadio4 BBCSounds OwenPaterson Emmabarnett RPatersonTrust He’s hysterical. But makes it all about him.
OwenPaterson BBCRadio4 BBCSounds Emmabarnett RPatersonTrust They maintain a vista of normality. I've known 2 commit suicide. 1 we all went out & that person paid for everything, saying they were leaving for a new job. 2 was an actress neighbor to whom I took flowers as I'd been to the market & bought too many. I was the last to see her
BBCRadio4 BBCSounds OwenPaterson Emmabarnett RPatersonTrust Heartbreaking listen today. I have heard research that the menopause and hormonal imbalances in women can cause the unexplainable behaviour of suicide. More research needs to be done on how hormones effect mood and what we can do to prevent such tragedies.
BBCRadio4 BBCSounds OwenPaterson Emmabarnett RPatersonTrust I had post partum psychosis depression 20 years and recognise all Rose's signs. My heart and love goes out to her and Owen's family. A well valued heartfelt interview xxx
OwenPaterson Emmabarnett RPatersonTrust Good job men never commit suicide...otherwise we'd need a BBC Men's Hour.
