‘My mum can’t come here even though I’m here. It's heartbreaking.’ UK-based Ukrainian student lana_kozak_ speaks to JessCreighton1 about trying to be reunited with her mother who is in Ukraine:

You might be forgiven for thinking that the females of most animal species are passive, maternal and monogamous – because that’s been the long-standing scientific consensus. But now the zoologist and broadcaster Lucy Cooke wants to expose the stereotypes and bias that lie beneath our common understanding of how the sexes work in the wild. Her new book is called Bitch - A Revolutionary Guide to Sex, Evolution and the Female Animal.

Furniture poverty is when someone is unable to afford or access essential items. including white goods, beds, and carpets and curtains. In 2017 around 400,000 children in the UK didn’t have their own bed to sleep on, and in 2020 at least 4.8m people were living without at least one essential household appliance. These figures are expected to have risen during the pandemic, and expected to rise further with the cost of living crisis - with soaring inflation and household bills.

lana_kozak_ JessCreighton1 Feeling your pain lana_kozak_ as my longstanding friend Inna whose mother- the only member of family is stuck in Kyiv having escaped Donbass years ago! Frail, isolated, not so mobile yet visas were refused and she can’t get herself to my mum in Slovakia! We are desperate!

EndFurniturePov That ticket is a band called the Courteeners took away the money from a foreigner under the instruction of the police, for the opening of pro-Nazi TV series: Ridley Road. The exact amount of money is still not paid back by the Courteeners.

EndFurniturePov Proverbs 6:31, NIV: 'Yet if he is caught, he must pay sevenfold, though it costs him all the wealth of his house.' The extra amount of money Courteeners took should be paid back, they should be very thankful for my generosity since I am not asking for 7 folds.

EndFurniturePov I am incandescent at your coverage of this - there is a furniture mountain - I put 5 fire tagged sofas on free cycle as we are moving- no response so are having to pay council to dispose of them
