BBC broadcaster Simon Warr dies aged 65

An announcement on Twitter said Warr died from pancreatic and liver cancer while surrounded by his family.

Speaking after a jury acquitted him in 2014, Warr said the false allegations had led him to lose his job, friends and home.

This rather hits home. I followed Simon for a while. I had, in college, 25 years ago, written of false allegations of sexual harassment against a male student who took the issue to Court of Queen's Bench. I learned male accused are very alone in their fight.

Simon wanted his legacy to raise awareness of victims of false accusations. Victims of false accusations are growing and Warr had to pass away with this on his mind. We need to do better. Heartbreaking
