A piece of street art in Bristol that was this week confirmed as being by Banksy has been vandalised.

Maybe it's been tagged as a political statement, Banksy is now worth millions, Art dealers & Property Owners tear down walls to capitalise on his art. His Art, once political, is now meaningless, a commodity for the rich.
Isn't Banksy 'art-work' vandalism to begin with?
That's because, while it is art and an art girm, it's cheap/simple art and really isn't all that importan. And when graffiti gets graffiti-ed, it's not that big a deal. We are making more of this art than it really is.

Art is subjective. It's all done without the owners permission, and who's to say banksy didn't do both?

I presume, that Banksy had some kind of legal permission and that other person didn't, but this is graffiti culture - overwriting is normal custom, kind of a development of wall (which is free, public canvas for those people).

I am struggling to find a divine word which would completely define this type of vandalism for I can only suspect that the graffiti artist is not a gifted one since from afar one can tell that his work is entirely loaded with petty values!

Banksy's tiresome artwork is also vandalism. The guy who lives in the end house willl probably make a few bob out of it, but what about the rest of that terrace, who don't want to live in an area where people with spray-cans decorate private property?
