Backlash against Olympic hammer thrower Gwen Berry over anthem protest

Berry, 31, appeared to express her displeasure at the US national anthem during trials Saturday in Oregon. The anthem played while she was on the podium taking the bronze medal in the hammer throw event. Berry turned her back to the US flag then covered her face with a T-shirt with the words 'activist athlete' on it.

America is just such a horrible place! she should go to Iran. Get a visa. And compete for them. See how that goes.

I don’t stand for the Un-National Anthem either. I also think it’s stupid to play it at sporting events. We don’t play it at the movies, or shows.

She claims to be a victim. She was ambushed by the playing of the national anthem. They conspired against her by not telling her it would be played at an awards ceremony? What about her fellow athletes on stage, didn't they have right to honor the flag?

They sure didn't get mad at the MAGA cult when they used American flags to beat police....
