British Airways to trial 25-second Covid tests that would be a 'game-changer' for holidaymakers

The carrier, which will be the world's first airline to use the test, described it as a "game-changer".Pilots and cabin crew will be invited to take the Pelican Covid-19 antigen test by Canary Global and their results will be compared with their standard test results.

BA are hoping that the new tests would drastically reduce costs and hassle for holidaymakers, if successful. Users apply a sample of their saliva to a disposable sensor unit, which is shaken and inserted into a digital reader connected to a Bluetooth-enabled device such as a smartphone.Pilots and cabin crew will be invited to take the test and their results will be compared with their standard test resultsThe ban on international leisure travel for people in England will be lifted on Monday.
