A B-listed property in the city centre of Glasgow is set to be turned into flats.

Station House at 34 St Enoch Square, which was originally built in the 19th century as the headquarters for the Glasgow and South Western Railway Company, has recently been acquired by West ofThe building extends over five floors and will be transformed into twenty-six mid-market rent properties via a multi-million pound conversion.

The organisation currently owns and manages 144 new-built MMR properties in Dundashill and Dalmarnock - which are generally aimed at those on a low to moderate income who wouldn’t qualify for social housing but can’t afford to pay market rent or buy a property.Andrew Kubski, director of development and asset management at WSHA, said:"We are thrilled to have acquired Station House on St Enoch Square in the heart of the city centre as our first conversion project.

Councillor Kenny McLean, convener for housing at Glasgow City Council, added: “This is significant news that illustrates the changes underway in Glasgow city centre, and we are delighted to support West of Scotland Housing Association on this project.
